Michael Carroll joined Erskine & Tulley in 1972 and has been a partner for many years. Initially his practice centered on real estate litigation and lease negotiations representing landlords, especially in the shopping center arena. This legal area was a good fit inasmuch as Mr. Carroll had eight years experience in commercial real estate and property management at the time he passed the bar.
Mr. Carroll has appeared at seminars sponsored by the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Northwest Center for Professional Education to speak on real estate issues.
In his practice for over 30 years, Mr. Carroll has refined a specialty in representing employee benefit plans regulated under the ERISA statute, with an emphasis on the collection of delinquent employer contributions. He has had over 40 multiemployer trust fund clients in the roofing, sheet metal, trucking and printing industries. A popular speaker before professional organizations, Mr. Carroll often participated in educational meetings sponsored by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. He has been chair of the International Foundation’s Attorneys Committee and member of the Educational Program Committee.
Mr. Carroll earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees at the University of San Francisco.
Mr. Carroll is rated A-V (highest rating) by Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Carroll is currently an inactive member of the State Bar of California.
